Rock and Roll was now a decade old!  In 1965, The Beatles continued to be incredibly popular, but other musical genres were too!  Motown (The Supremes) and Surf Music (Beach Boys) competed for top spots on the charts.  Folk Rock (The Byrds and Bob Dylan) was becoming more popular, and many of the songs were sung about anti-war sentiments.  In Fact, Bob Dylan had 6 songs from 1965 that made the top 500 list.  The #1 song of all-time, according to Rolling Stone, was "Like a Rolling Stone" that was topped the charts in 1965!  Country, pop, and instrumental even made its way to the top of the charts in 1965.  In fact, 35 songs made the 500 Biggest Songs of All Time from 1965.  This was the most ever to make the coveted Rolling Stones list in a single year. The Beatles released their "Rubber Soul" album  at the end of 1965, and rock and roll would never be the same again.
