WKDZ found me in the South Dakota Prairie and brought me back home to Western Kentucky, a feat I knew couldn't happen unless Hades froze over or Tennessee passed a State Lottery. I was raised and educated in Mississippi which explains the whole disc jockey thing- and made my way to West Tennessee in 1988. Then ten years later, having learned enough about this new thing called computers, moved to Dallas, Texas, to work for a computer software concern servicing radio stations all over the country. After 9-11, it was fairly clear, at least to me, that a large city in the Texas Money Belt just might be a splendid target for the next attack so I moved the family and myself to Yankton, South Dakota, for a couple of years.
In September 2004, I became the host of "Hoptown This Morning" on Oldies Radio 1480 WHVO, along with myriad of other jobs here at the radio station, including calling Trigg County Lady Wildcat Basketball games, which I gave up when a real sports fanatic came to WKDZ. See Scott Brown.
Somehow, it was discovered that I had a certain aptitude toward computers and networking, along with an understanding of wiring and transmission systems. I have since left the morning show and now take care of many of the technical issues that face radio stations in the twenty-first century. You can usually find me in a dark cubbyhole behind the equipment racks keeping these fine stations on the air and on the web.
I am married to a very special - and obviously - patient lady, have a teenage son, a cat and a dog. |
