Isaiah Pollard - 8th Grade
Christian County Middle School

Isaiah Pollard is in the 8th grade at Christian County Middle School. He is clearly on the right track for success in his life. Isaiah is president of the Teen Court, the Builders Club, and the Y Club, as well as Vice President of the Jr. Beta Club. Then, in his spare time, Isaiah plays football and basketball, runs cross-country, and plays drums in the CCMS band!
Isaiah credits his entire family, but primarily his mother, for instilling his values, ambition, and confidence. He says his family has constantly encouraged him to do his best and be all he can be. Mom is Leslie Clardy, a special education teacher at CCMS.
Isaiah is a straight-A student, but math is his favorite subject of all. He says he just really likes “working the numbers”. Isaiah plans to continue sports in high school, but he always remembers that academics come first. He hopes to do well in high school so he can attend the University of Kentucky and play basketball, or even perhaps football. Ultimately, he’d love to play in the NBA or the NFL. Isaiah says if that doesn’t work out, he’s always been taught to have a Plan B. Plan B for Isaiah Pollard? He plans to become an attorney. Not a bad Plan B!

Jamon Brisby is known as one of the smoothest dressers at North Drive Middle School.  The eight-grade student often wears bowties and sweater vests to school, along with perfectly creased pants and jeans.  He likes to look good and says it makes him feel like a professional. Along with his good looks, Jamon has a sense of maturity that is well beyond his 13 years. He takes pride in his school work and makes every effort to be friendly, courteous and respectful to his fellow students and his teachers.  Jamon’s peers often tell him they would vote him “most likely to succeed in life” if they had the chance.  Jamon loves science and hopes to one day become a chemist.  He plans to begin his post-secondary career at Hopkinsville Community College and then go on to each a master’s degree in chemistry.
Jamon is a native of Hopkinsville.
