Local Focus

For some people, a bicycle is just another fixture in the garage to be hauled out and used when the mood strikes. For others, a bike is so much more. It’s the fun, the freedom, and the whole “wind in the hair and bugs in the teeth” experience.

At Bikes and Moore, they understand that feeling more than most. In fact, all of the team members at Bikes and Moore are riders themselves. They are committed to sharing their combined first hand experience of over 75 years to help you find the bike and gear that suits your needs, as well as your budget.

The story of Bikes and Moore began in the winter of 1979. Owner, Tim Moore, an avid cyclist, saw a need for a specialized store for more “serious” cyclists. Armed with very little knowledge in the business world, and a very limited line of credit, he began his journey of getting bikes and parts for wholesale. The official first day of business as Bikes and Moore was March 10th, 1980. The rest, as they say, is history.

Predictably the start was slow, but the growth was steady. By 1985, they had outgrown their rental space and five years later, they were ready to upsize again! With the new location came new products. Trek and Specialized bikes were added to the mix.

In July of 1998, they opened a brand new facility that they had designed and built from the ground up. On a hot 4th of July weekend, Bikes and Moore conducted their own parade of tools, equipment, parts, and of course, bikes from the old store to the new one.

Today, you’ll find a great selection of bikes and gear – and that’s only the beginning at Bikes and Moore in Hopkinsville. A friendly staff is waiting to assist you. Whether you’re a first timer or a hard-core enthusiast, they are here to help and answer any questions you may have. They’re never too busy to help you.

At Bikes and Moore, they have a full service department capable of handling any repair job, from a flat tire to a complete pro overhaul. Beat the Springtime rush, and bring your bicycle in now. You know you don’t want to miss that first good weather day because your bicycle isn’t ready – so let the experts at Bikes and Moore help in plenty of time. And by the way, every member of the Bikes and Moore team has been certified by completion of the Trek Bicycle Mechanic’s Certification Course.

At Bikes and Moore, they also have a new product that they are very excited about. It’s called an I-go pedal trailor. Get off the couch and spend some quality time with your child outdoors! The I-go puts a new spin on the classic concept of a bicycle trailor with this one-of-a-kind pedal trailor. Kids no longer have to be cooped up inside a trailor while attached to the rear of your bike. With the I-go, your little one enjoys the fresh air of the great outdoors, while peddling independently.

And by the way, on the showroom floor you’ll also find several ‘09 bicycles on sale. You’ll find Trek and Specialized bikes at a fraction of what you would normally pay. Bikes and Moore is located on Sivley Road in Hopkinsville. Simply turn at the lights on Ft. Campbell Boulevard by Applebee’s and follow the road. Bikes and Moore is on the right.

Bikes and Moore invites you to stop by and see what they have to offer. Whether it’s for fitness, racing, commuting, or just plain fun, they’ll help you find and maintain the bike of your dreams.

At Bikes and Moore – they take your fun seriously!
